Title Research: Dead Silence
Hey everyone, welcome back. The film that I chose to analyze is Dead Silence because it is a great representation of how a horror film should be. The website I used was Art of the Title
What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The images that are prioritized look like scenes from out the movie. They are images that give a feel for what will happen in the movie without fully telling what exactly is going on. The movie is on a marrionette that is very haunting and the image of him in the opening sequence adds fear.
How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the others? We get a feeling of horror by the different pictures being inserted as stated in the previous question. Also, the different way the conventions are thrown in to keep somewhat suspense of what will happen in the movie. There are a lot of quick transitions to keep the suspense. The background noise also adds to the emotion element as it helps intensify what will happen. Everything in the film from the images and music to the description and motive helps us get to the horror level.
Thanks for reading,
